Google state they are introducing a new Gblog. Already successful with blogger, there are many who say Google gives these blogs a SEO advantage (after all they "own" the hosted blogs) so I was interested in some of their promises for the new Gblog. Will this be a new way to become number one of Google search engine results (the implications would be huge) - sidebar populated with most relevant content - does this my google are going to take over the side bar and hence have open to it huge advertising opportunities - is Google 'taking over' the internet? Any thoughts/arguments/suggestions.
This does not look good. I have seen that Google's arrogation (PR) tool favors sites related to Google over none Google sites. How can adsense.com have a higher PR than msn.com. Or a site like gmail have a higher PR than hotmail.com when more people use hotmail more than Gmail?
They're atleast trying to do that by one way or another I don't have any info about GBlog............Time for search. Thanks
Probably because a lot less sites link to msn & hotmail compared to Gmail & Adsense. Google doesn't always give their sites high PR's. Igoogle is only pr4 I'm not that worried about the whole blog thing. Google will always choose quality over anything else so I doubt they'll favor Gblog's over others.
More sites link to MSN.COM than ADSENSE.COM. More people on the web visit msn.com than adsense. Cause most people still dont run adsense.
If you go to the Blogger Dashboard they go into more detail and say they are introducing it later this year. This could be a huge major change to all SEO "experts" out there.
Depdends on how many people use the new blog and how it is laid out. I do not think they rate blogger over most sites. Ok just saw post of what it offers it does sound like google wants to dominate.
It could be but I know that I don't know a single person who chooses MSN over Google.. normal users don't have a reason to link to msn either, webmasters do have plenty of reasons to link to Adsense. I'm only guessing though but I don't think Google punishes their competitors by giving them lower PR's. If that were the case then why is Igoogle ranked so low and why don't they give Gmail & Adsense a PR 10? I think Google's very fair
Sounds like something inspired by the Borg. This kills individuality. Who wants some kind of dumb mash up of content? The great part about blogs is the human/personality behind it, and the only place where you can find that one person. They seem to be putting a lot on their plate between this and Knol.
Is this going to be new junk content? Or a way to create huge amounts to stuff with little effort and rake in internet millions?
I think you might be right the video links to someone doing karaoke and it was posted on April 1 - you mean Google has a sense of humor!!!!
