Google needs to lay off its Penalties

I've been noticing a lot this year that Google has been very liberal in handing out penalties and rank deductions than in the past few years.

Not to mention one of my own sites, but other more established and well known sites. I used to just look for them by searching for their brand name on Google. I have been noticing that I can't find the damn site anymore because I can't remember the URL and it won't even show up in Google for it's own brand name.

This is exactly what I was writing about the past few weeks for my own site not being found for it's brand name either. Google is really shooting themselves in the foot with THIS kind of dumb penalty if I have to go to Yahoo or Bing just to find a site by it's brand name.

And somehow they keep growing and making money.

So like it or not... what they are doing is working.

    Google is just software.

could that be as more people jump into the game, more aggressive seo tactics are used.. google is just doing what it is in their best interest to protect their listings... if you can give us specific sites, we may commented more on that

Google is going to do what they are gonna do. There are other avenues to be explored besides google.

They don't need to ease up, you need to tidy up and follow EVERY single rule and policy they have. Again, they're the big guys here.

Google might have penalized your website and this is why its not even showing with its brand name. Not to mention Google has never been so harsh if websites are not commiting any mistakes. Don't let Google know or don't do any wrong deeds which might lead to banning of your website.

Site/Blog reviews and get it added to free/paid coupon lists, give your visitor something to talk about and a reason to return. You could get some banners made and advertise on some high traffic websites.

    Thanks Brian

Google, unlike Yahoo and others do try to follow the rules. They are flexible (remember BMW case when they were spamming and google had to bend the rules a bit?).

I understand the complains on this forum as most of the people go for forum post links and blog commenting but it's just spamming as the only reason you post is to get your link there, otherwise it's just spam.

I'm glad, at last, google are taking a tougher stance on blog comments as people spam too too much.

Yea..this is another reason why I gave up on SEO. Nowadays, it's just the blackhaters & big companies getting the good rankings.
Ranking for good, money making keywords is hard.
