According to the security gurus Trend Micro, the most dangerous site on the net in 2010 was none other than google.com. Of course, no one would believe this out of hand – Google’s had its problems in the last year, what with user privacy snafus and other ballyhoo, but when you consider Google’s immense popularity, it becomes a different story. Factoring Google’s reputation as the (second-)most visited site on the net (Facebook passed it this past year), it is a prime target for blackhat SEO schemes, leading to all manner of malware and other threats. Naturally, it takes two to tango, and the user is every bit as at fault as Google. Just don’t click suspicious links. But even so, maybe Google could amp up its own methods of culling bad apples from the basket. Facebook also felt the finger of blame this year due to its own popularity, as Trend Micro awarded it ‘most dangerous social network’. With survey scams and malware and privacy fiascos aplenty, it’s not very difficult to see why Facebook nabbed the prize. Though, all things considered… when you’re just about the only social network, you’re bound to wind up the most dangerous, regardless.- via Techi http://www.techi.com/2011/01/the-most-dangerous-website-in-2010-google
I know that google is popular but dont know how it got ;most dangerous website' award. Are you sure about this information?
Being one of the most visited websites in the world, of course some might think it's the 'most dangerous' website. Again the same goes for facebook. Other websites can be more dangerous, but in terms of volume THESE TWO can really be the most dangerous. What has more chance to hurt someone if it dropped on their head? A barrel containing 1 million 1 cent coins or a 10.000 dollar bill?
It is natural that some of the most popular websites are likely to be targeted for all sorts of black hat just to get noticed by the biggies.
As the biggest search engine in the world I'm sure there are millions of shady links that they have in their results
Yes it is but can you imagine net without Google.Google is the search engine, most people likes.so just ignore this news.
This was bound to happen. I would agree 100% that Google is dangerous. The tools they have at their disposal are miles ahead of what we have for commercial use right now.
