    Looks like google's new tool is live, Google Mini, for $4995 your company can use this tool to search your site/intranet. Interesting:

    why the hell would you shell out that much?

    couldnt u just use sitesearch and desktopsearch over a LAN?

    Yeah, seems a bit pricey to me too, but it could be useful for companies with extremely large intranets and sites.

    I imagine that G did a fair amount of market research, and determined there was a market for this if they're selling it.

    that's fine for a small business with a couple of employees, but if you have any size whatsoever there's a big liability in trying to avert the system. $5000 is a pretty ok price tag for a useful piece of software in most "enterprise" businesses.

    I can't see the need to rush out and buy this with any computer network under 20 strong. And that's a big network.
