    Hi,
I am optimizing one of my site which is an electronic product shopping cart site. But to my surprise I noticed one thing when I searched for my title name. My competitors site is listed in the Google in the middle of the search page under the heading "See results for:".Could anyone enlighten me as to why this happens for a keyword which is nowhere in close proximity of my competitor:(. Please comment

What do you mean, you are searching your title name in google or in your site search box itself?

What's this about proximity? If you're talking about keyword proximity, that's just an SEO myth.

I would advise you to analyze that competitors backlinks to compare anchor text of links. Perhaps you have keys in common.
Here is a more likely scenario-
If you are running top seat and adwords campaigns, it is just possible that they use your title name as one of their keyword strategies.

You have not really provided enough information for me to give anything other than hypotheticals. If you want to PM me the specifics I will take a moment to explore your situation.
