I think this is a little ridiculous, but according to CNet, the three are being sued because of their use of preview icons:

"Cygnus describes the technology covered by the patent as "methods and systems for accessing one or more computer files via a graphical icon, wherein the graphical icon includes an image of a selected portion or portions of one or more computer files."

Seriously? What is interesting about this is that these companies, esp. Google, have been using this technology for a while. Couldn't any other program which accesses files on your computer be guilty of this, why sue now?

I dunno, what do you think? They are trying to make a cheap buck?

    Thanks!

(Sorry that this is a repost, they got to it just before me!)
