Good morning, Early august there was a major google algorithm update, dubbed the "Medic Update". what are your opinions in mitigating this update? From my Opinion its Mainly: -Content Length -Mobile Optimization -And perhaps, I THINK its update frequency. Let's share Thank you
They dubbed it incorrectly as a medic update as testing didn't conclude this on a large group of these niche sites. Can't recall what the final results were, but EAT would be a major factor in these kind of niches. Those factors you list could pertain to any niche.
Hi KJH, thanks for your reply. EAT as in food? I know my opinion applies to SEO factors for ranking, but what I specifically meant was the increase in stringency. Regards
No, Expertise/Authoritativeness/Trust = EAT You must obtain these for YMYL(Your money your life) niches. Anything that deals with financial/health sites that could seriously affect someone's life google takes serious now. (ex. bad advise)
From what I see this update has targetted: 1) Sites with a bad UI. So focus on getting better onsite metrics. 2) Sites without a brand behind them. Create pages like careers, fully completed social profiles, legal pages, contact page, about pages, etc. Too many skimpy sites that just scream SEO sites, and these have been hit.
