Hey. I noticed this today when I was researching cars. I wonder what the implications will be for the advertiser who gets a lot of "No" votes. Probably higher costs, Lower Position and Less frequent rotation. No doubt it is a method of defeating MFA sites. This happens if you hit the backspace button immediately after having visited a site. Sometimes.
interesting... if a visitor clicks the button, he might/might not visit the website & if he visits, how can he vote?
The sequence is: Ad is displayed User clicks ad Sees site Reacts negatively and hits the backspace key Vote buttons appear on ad just clicked User clicks a vote button (or not) Web site with lots of No votes pays more for keywords (Maybe)
I think this is a really early beta thing. I haven't seen reports of it anywhere else. I'm not actively looking for it and I would definitely not encourage you to hunt for it either. You'd just be wasting advertiser dollars. I think the main factor was that the landing page was a splash page with no text to reflect the keyword that brought me to the site. Maybe the AdWords bot had already visited the page and thought that it scored low for its criteria. That low score was a trigger for the voting buttons once the backspace key was pressed. Again don't go hunting for this. The value of the information that you could provide from it is not that great and is also open to malicious use. Someone could just vote No all the time. The whole process presupposes a completely honest reaction or opinion.
Perhaps, but the point is valid. Gotta wonder why YPN can deal with click fraud and google uses click fruad as it's golden rod to point fingers. Conversly, there is the argument google can read content better then YPN.
