    Hi Robert,

I think you are on a wrong forum :) You should write to Google to fix this asap.

I searched for something else and it's updated. Maybe there are few updates to make.

They can not have up to date map details because it would help terrorist find objects. If you want up to date maps - there is a paid maping service out there that has up to date maps but you have to have a corporation and pay some fee for the up to date maps.

It takes considerable effort to have accurate mapping - there's always going to be a time lag between when the image is captured and when it's displayed. I don't suppose Cornwall is much of a priority.

There was a rumour in Tenerife about the Google maps. Basically most of the images were provided by the Spanish & Tenerife Government who (it was said) deliberatly provided out of date photographs inorder not to show the level of development that had gone on around the island.

If you think about it, there are many reasons a government would not want every aspect of their land included on a readily available internet application. It makes sense for it to be 'out of date' at times.

Have you folks done a recent flyover to get new photography to give to Google? THAT is how they get updated maps.

Hey, near where I live the local map hasn't been updated for 5 years. I know this because I still see my old car parked on the drive that I haven't had for that amount of time!

The reason i am complaining is that over 20 miles of road has been totally revamped and changed over the last 2 years.

If it was a small mini roundabout, i wouldn't be complaining, but because it is such a big improvement, it is worth fixing.

Robert, Google monitors Google Groups, not so much DigitalPoint, so you might have better luck contacting them directly or asking them there.

do you know how much time it takes to map the whole world?! they have to scan this pictures by hand and insert streetnames, streets and allign the picture borders so that everything fits! there is no sat which sends gmaps-ready jpg-files to the google maps server...

and yeah terrorists blah blah blah - read some history books and you would be surprised how efficient terrorists where in the 70's and 80's without google maps, internet, cellphones, computers etc.
resolution on google maps sucks anyway outside mayor cities.

They update big cities quicker and other parts slowly.
