Google Maps - Australia is not on the list

I am trying to add the business address of our client on Google Places and found this bug.



I am looking for Australia on the list but I can't find it. Usually Australia is next to Austria but now it's gone. I keep on looking on the list but I got no luck.

Does someone experience this issue?

Hehe, well we know it's on the map, it's just that the country won't appear in Google Places for Business country list when you try to set up a new place.

 

I already posted this issue on google webmaster forum but they hide my post because they said I violated something in according to them.

 

I'm sorry to hear that. Perhaps they will answer to a private message directly to Google's support center instead.

 

The work around is that you have to have an Australian IP to do it. If you are located anywhere but in Australia it does not show up in the list, but if you use an Australian IP it defaults to Australia. I remotly logged into a computer that was in Australia to do it, not sure if using something like HMA would do the trick or not.

 

Do you reckon how long it takes before google answer queries like this stuff?

 

Actually I am also thinking that google might detected my IP. However our ISP is directly from Australia I reckon that the IP which was detected is AU ip. Moreover, some of our clients were already listed in google using the current IP. This really frustrates me. I think the issue occurs when I used the new interface of google local listing.

I don't think Australian IP should be the reason. Otherwise, you would have not seen other countries too. As Far As I Know, Germany is the other one.

 

I could find Germany and I do not have a German IP (See image). However, I can't get Australia except when I use an Australian IP, it's just not in the list so I can select it.

 

I don't know if the account is also the reason. I tried using the other account and it allows me to add the Au address. Hmm i think google add some restrictions for that gmail account that's why I encounter that kind of problem.
