Hey everyone. I was looking at the Google Maps API , and I was looking through their documentation. Does anyone know if it would be possible to use a custom map file to display, instead of the map of the world? The use for this could be for displaying maps from games, etc. I looked through the APIDocs for the Maps API, and the closest thing I could find was the custom overlay, but this isn't really it. When you look at this, it still displays the world map. Thanks in advance.
Hi. Yes, it's absolutely possible to make a custom map to display using Google Maps. Instead of making an overlay, what you'd do is make a custom map type, which you in turn call (instead of G_NORMAL_MAP or whatever you'd call "G_MYGAME_MAP", which is the map you've imported). You can see an example here, for LOTRO (Lord of the Rings Online): http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Frodo's_Path_to_Rivendell Maybe this can get you started: http://mapki.com/index.php?title=Add_Your_Own_Custom_Map http://econym.googlepages.com/custommap.htm http://www.maplib.net/
Can I input google map "my network" ( _http://maps.google.ru/?ie=UTF8&ll=50.153366,30.376854&spn=0.166304,0.44426&t=h&z=12 ) in my forum: _http://www.crystal.in.ua/index.php , without html code???
