Google Map at number 1 position when searching

    When I search on the keywords : photographer torrevieja

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=photographer+torrevieja

    The first result is a Google Map with the address of a photographer in Torrevieja. Why does this photographer get this?

    When looking at his website he has not done any SEO work, keyword phrases are not good, also very few backlinks.

    Any ideas?

    The site has google map because the webmaster submit the site on google map.

    Google Maps Local Business Center - you add your business details, and once authorized (by post or phone call) your business will be displayed.

    Some searches have none, some specific searches show the specific business... popular searches may show 10 map listings.

    Worth the small effort... particularly if you want to display phone number / street address / etc.
