I read recently that 70% of all employers and potential sexual partners are now using Google to find out more information about YOU. Kinda scary hey? So I decided to have some fun.... I grabbed some Chuck Norris jokes, and used the "find and replace" feature on MS Word to insert my own name "Dean Hunt". I put it on my blog and waited for Google to take the bait. Here is the result: Now any employer or lover will know that I use ribbed condoms inside out, and my tears cure cancer Here is the full thread: Google Manipulation
Ha ha.... You want to get some images as well.... I googled my old boss before the interview as well....
Many people joke about a weekend of partying on their Myspace pages, blogs etc.... and then 3 years later their boss will see the story and pictures. Trust me, almost everyone has said something embarrassing at least once.
No,anyone with little bit of seo knowledge can rank good for your full name, and he can put some defamatory stuff about you, and employee verification agency may just search in google and find your information thinking it to be authentic....
When i type my first and last name in google, my site comes up first place. And the whole site doesn't even have my name listed. It's probably because of the whois data Still, it's kinda creepy
Yes, that is an issue that I am sure will be a problem for many people. But the FACT is that 70% of employers ALREADY use Google to get info about you. This is not a theory, it is FACT! I am not condoning it, but that is the way it is. Anyway, mine was a spoof prank, but there is a serious issue behind it.
When i Google my "First Last" name, no results found. Not bad for someone using the net since the 90's
if you write something on any website, means you want to share that with all internet users. It's better for someone to know who are you earlier, than to find out later that you are not the one he thought you are.
So you would tell your boss that you were partying all weekend and got really drunk and ended up running through the bar naked? You would tell him that at the interview?
