One of my most visited sites is the gpa calculator below in my sig. It had a front page ranking in Google. Suddenly it dropped and is no where to be found in google and visits are at 10% of what it used to be. When I do a backlink search I find something very strange and haven´t seen this before http://www.google.com/interstitial?...ld.com/Article/Getting-Ready-for-College/1636 Google warns before visiting this site because of malware. Great but is that site maybe the reason why I am dropped from the frontpage. I have no link to them but they link to me using an article I wrote.
If you don't have links to them, then it does not matter. Google states that no incoming link can harm you in the SERPs. You have no control over the incoming links, thus nobody would ever punish a site for incoming link. The only time I think the penalty can be inflicted if you own the banned/penalized site too and that can be clearly seen through whois request.
Thats what I thought too but I try to find a reason and submitting articles to several places was the only thing that changed and that link above came up so I try to pt 1 and 1 together
I came back yesterday ... I have no clue why and what happend and see a lot of fluctions in ranking and pr according to the dp ranking tool on other domains on the same server.
