can people at google determine when the website page was first indexed in google and how the page has changed with time ? or do the google cache keeps on changing and they discard the earlier information as they keep crawling for new content each day ?? IMO, they do have all the records ( a kind of archiving) or our webpages, as at times, they show the cache from more than 3 months back. anyone got any idea about that ? thanks dhaliwal
Google is not making information like this public (that I know of). That doens't mean they can't, won't or aren't already doing it in private.
Yes, I have similar experience. It happens sometime, that when I search for my site on A keyword, I find the newest version in the Google index, but when I search for B keyword (which already is not included in the latest version of my site), the results in the index show my page as it looked for example a week or two weeks ago. It happens not only in google, but in msn too. It doesn't mean they still have all versions of the sites, but it seems they keep archive of at least some of the latest versions.
hmm, same are my thoughts, but they could monitor the things as well in case they plan to do that, because they might be having archived pages
