C'mon you guys, they've rigged it to reach 3 gigs on Gmail's next Birthday April 1st, 2006. Wrmineo, you might as well just give me the link now :)

Damn, I had even considered that exam - a very good point, and likely true.

I guessed 25-Dec knowing that Google likes to use holidays to surprise us ... like the Google Days of Gray this past Memorial Day weekend here in the U.S. But your rationale makes even more sense.

Only time will tell I guess.

google is updating gmail's size by 0.00004 MB per second
its right now 2656. so to reach 3 GB it has we have to wait 8528401.925 seconds
    i.e 142140 min.
    i.e. 2369 hours.
    i.e. 98 days from today

and that is 3 feb 2006

Your rationale seems sound enough daredashi, but if you don't mind we'll wait to declare a winner :D

I'm still inclined to believe that they will simply "bump" up to a round number on a particular day as has been discussed above and then make a huge ado over the matter. Exam has a good prediction with their birthday, but along those same lines your date is near Valentines ... ?

    i don't mind at all . lol
i have done pure arthmatic based on 2 min observation on gmail page, nothing else. and if they will simply "bump" up to a round number, i am out of contest.
any way google is unpredictable :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you *exam does his political bow and wave*

Remember all you who try to calculate this based on the counter on the homepage, be warned: It is not running at a constant speed. ;) And as we all know, that's only there for publicity, they're not really basing much off it. :)

Yes, just stare at the moving number, concentrate, relax, take deep, slow relaxing breaths, clear your mind, and when I count to .... :D
