Okay, I didn't predict the next Google Toolbar PR update correctly, big deal. Despite my embarrassing and incorrect prediction, I've decided to try a different contest. Even though I'm just as likely to be wrong again, I thought it'd be fun to venture a guess of another sort. And, to the winner, I will give a sitewide link on Heres1.com from the time of the contest close (upon someone winning) for no less than 180 days: When will Google Mail hit 3.0 GB in size? My prediction based on very scientific guess work is 25-Dec-2005.
29th December 2005 When will I be able to see a close up of my car/bike etc. on google earth 11th April 2007

Basically, Google is adding 1gb of storage every 3 days.
To meet that deadline, Gmail would have to add around 4.9gb per day... about 15 times faster than its current rate of 0.33gb/day.
Didnt mean to kill this thread... Google usually adds storage in big chunks, so estimating it based on the speed of the little counter could easily be way off.
Getting a little ahead of ourselves aren't we? That's a good question actually, I'll have to give it some thought, but I do own several other websites, I'm sure that in the off-chance someone were to win both of my current contests I could make provisions for them hitting the "trifecto" so to speak.
Translation: How much did the space counter change in one day? Then from that much change, how many days will it need to pass 3 Gig. I'll give you my guess in about 24 hourz!!
I don't know whether to wait with abated breath to see what type of mathematical formulation you derive to anticipate this prediction .... or to see what type of atypical wacko answer you come up with Either way, I'm looking forward to it
