I think the monopoly is almost a fact, especially in general services like the search engines! Why do you think we are not using? The point is what SE your visitors are using! If I didn't run some web sites, I surely would use other search engines for my personal searches, as I think google's results are not that adequate. But since most visitors are from google I have no choice but take them into consideration. It's like the browsers - I am using firefox, but I always test sites in IE, which 80% of my visitors are using.
wow! Lots of shareholder cash, but it'll bounce back. Thats what the stock market does - fluctuate. Its just because google is so big that it seems huge! DoA
It helps if you imagine it is run by a bunch of neurotics who drink nothing but coffee and who buy and sell according to a combination of how they feel when they wake up in the morning, superstition, and whether or not it's sunny.
