Yeah the way Google operates is definitely odd. That breach of the TOS looks dead easy to pick up automatically. It's the same with proscribed words. Sometimes they're allowed in an ad.

Excellent video -- excellent example of the corruption running rampant at the GooglePlex.

Like the case with our current government, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

In both examples, this is what happens when priorities are oriented around profit, rather than towards the needs and considerations of people.

Considering that I'm also having problems with Google adwords being displayed across various websites against my wishes (even using site exclusion), running my credit card bill up higher and higher with nothing more than stupid canned responses from Google instead of a solution, I intend to stop advertising with Google.

I smell a rat --- it's a rip-off no matter how you look at it.

Nice video. I like how he walks people through it all. It is interesting how Google can make money twice on the same search!

    Interesting?

I'd say it's more like criminal. Imagine how many $millions are stolen each day from advertisers.

Get a life. There will always be people who will try to cheat the system and succeed. Google can try as hard as it can but there will always be people clever enough to defeat the system.

Get a life? What's that supposed to mean -- just look the other way and accept crime & corruption?

Your sense of apathy and disinterest is at the core of what's wrong with the entire system -- not just with Google Adwords. I suggest you get involved and take a stand against criminals. Or are you depending on me or someone else to do it for you? --- perhaps Spiderman.

Wow it's about time some one put this in a straight forward video.

I know my competitive adsense filter is about exclusively full of garbage sites like this. Last month was an oddly difficult struggle for filtering.

Regarding the top<x/#>sites and variations. Yeah holy hell. It's totally out of hand. How are these people not paying an extrodinary amount to advertise given they have nothing? To me it tosses the whole 'quality' = pay less right into the garbage

There is so many legitimate companies that are being screwed out of advertising space

I can't see it much other then intentional on google's part given i know within a month if not a week i could program a filter myself for these types of sites.

It's not like they are even exploiting something or using black tactics. They are just getting the OK and going straight on through.

In reference to the 'strangely' similar domain names with 'coincidental' mirror-like templates owned by the same person. Google isn't even making it hard for these people. I mean let's just throw the idea of unique content & site setup right out the window why don't we?

Countless times i've seen exactly what's in this video, multiple similar sites (clearly owned by the same person) advertising (a lot of times within a one block ad none the less) on my website (& everyone elses). It's rediculous. Then there's 2+ more to add to my filters list. 200 URL limit my ass. There's been times where i've gotton so frustrated over spam like this on my site that i've felt the need to break something & take another tylenol. Then top if off with having to wait days to get these sites off. I've spent hours and hours and hours filtering this crap.

These people could be stomped out so easily it's not even funny. Everyone knows it too. I don't get how google can have such a double standard. It's so shady and bastard-like.

Even the highest quality sites that i know of that run adsense have struggled with this.

No one is an exception to the loss this causes.

I can wait to see how pay per sale ads are going to do once they hit the mainstream. I think it will indeed revolutionize the online ad industry, no more click fraud.

Pay per sale is just CPA under another name, and CPA has been around for years.

Eventually the general public (who is on the web a fraction of the time of time of most who post here), may begin to view ppc ads as worse than the ads they used to put at the back of comic books, or the ad flyers that stick to your shoe walking down the vegas strip...

i think this was quite uncalled for. on topic, i dont think CPA ads will replace ppc ads some day, because of the amount of websites that have no items to sell and only offer content such as blogs about advertisement. well then again, e-books might come in...

Keyword arb and ad stuffing on a page are both strategies that have become increasingly difficult since google instituted its new algorithm. they want to eliminte this as well, as a good user experince will equal more clicks in the long run. if all PPC ads where just more ads, users will stop clicking.
