Hello Everyone! Does anyone know what criteria Google uses to rank the Google Local results? Sometimes, it seems like the physical location is a big part of it, but sometimes it seems like location is not the most important factor. If you are search for "realtor new york city", how does Google decide which one should go first, given the city is huge? Thanks!
I.m.o., locality descriptors are treated in the same way as any other keywords. Since supposedly KW "realtor" and KW "new york city" both are rather frequent KWs, your only hope is to bring forward the combination of both. This can only be achieved by boosting this compound by (a) backlinks in pages with good PR and (b) with internal linking using the same compond as an anchor text in both cases.
