Does anyone optimized google local maps?any tips for increasing the ranking rather than changing the title and description?..
Here are a few tips if you are doing a different country: - Own the proper domain extension for your country - Host your website in the country you are targeting with country-specific IP addresses - Have other local sites link to you - Place your relevant local address on every page of your site - Define your preferred region in Google Webmaster tools - Register with local search engines: - Google: http://www.google.com/local/add - Yahoo!: http://listings.local.yahoo.com/csubmit/index.php - Bing: https://ssl.bing.com/listings/BusinessSearch.aspx I pulled this off the book I'm reading "The Art of SEO - Mastering Search Engine Optimization". Hope this helps a little bit!
In regards to optimizing google local; you want reviews, videos, pictures and fill out a large portion of the information. Be careful with reviews cause they can't all be 5 stars they need to vary. you can ask your friends to fill out a review for you, reviews can't come from the same location because google local is ip-centric and will detect something is awry.
However, it would be helpful if reviews came from the same city (NOT the same IP address) that the business is established in. Remember, it's supposed to be local.
Be sure when you do directory submissions or get any mentions on other sites, you use the exact business name, address and phone you used in your Google Local listing. Google counts 'citations' that list your site and they help with rankings on local search.
