Firstly, I am not an seo expert and this is just my experienced from what I've seen things happened on my new site. My site ranking just dropped around 2 months ago. (since Jan 24, 2008 - 2 days before many people notice same situation in this thead Anyones Rankings Just Sunk? ) That site is fairly new and I thought it may because of Google filter did apply on my new site but actually no. I think Google just launch new filter with their new algorithm called "local filter". This is not an official from Google nor any evidence proven on this. As I said, this is only my experience. I will explain below why I though like that. From what I understand, current Google filter should apply and effect on site for all Google DC's and countries, such as ranked for #950 position in Google or something. This results should be seen in Google all countries. That is what I've had seen with my previous site I started in 2005. But this new "local filter" may be applied depends on keyword search volume in local specific country. If those keyword has high search volume in specific country then your site ranking will be filtered in Google specific country. Your site ranking may be good in many countries with low search volume but 100+ position in some country which has high search volume in the same keyword. Example : My site got ranked top 5 in all Google DC's and many countries except only USA results which my site got ranked -100 position compared to other countries. Compared to many old sites I have in other keyword, their ranking are stable. I couldn't find any explanation on what happened to my new site. If it has been filtered then the results should 100+ position in all countries and DC's. How my site ranked 100+ position in Google USA while ranked top 5 in Google other countries. What do you think guys? Am I thinking wrong on this? I am not an seo expert and may be wrong on this. Please share what are you thinking about this thank you in advance guys.
Here is the big question, how many of your backlinks are hosted in the US, this was gonna be part of our discussion later on this.
