This is pretty new and interesting. I'll be checking out what's inside them, only few features are in there so expecting for more features to come.
I don't know. I got chatting out of my system back in the nineties. I actually had my own chat room back then. The phrase "asl?" just makes me mad. I'm not much of a chatter. I do enjoy IM, but maybe that's because I know the people I'm IM'ing and the conversation goes a lot further than "Hey, I'm from Colorado too." Okay, I can't say that's 100% true because I actually met a really good friend in chat and I still talk to her and mail her stuff. She's more of a penpal now... God, that word penpal.. so cheesy. Anyway, I can see it becoming popular for those who do like to chat. I don't know if it will be as good as second life though (which I just found out about last night!)
I feel Google has targeted the young to seem "cool" so people will be introduced to Google's products and services at an earlier age. This is actually pretty clever, people adopt browsing habits early on with the internet and they kind of hang around as habit. Hook them early and appear cool, kind of how drugs work and take over your life really.
I would love to be able to put some adwords ads on there. PLastering the billboards with ringtone ads would do nicely I figure.
