Google links

So when I look at google webmaster tools I have quite a few links showing up. But if I put in link:movies.2donext.com I see no links.

Anyone know why or if it really matters?

 

Google never discloses the real amount of links via the LINK command.. and, the number of links that it does show only updates every few months.

It doesnt really matter.. Google knows how many backlinks you have.. They're getting pretty good at this whole search-engine thing..

 

Yeah they won't show all the links because they don't want their algorithm of how they value and link sites getting out.

 

i only have 3 backlicks and further is from other forum.

I login my webmaster site map which show "1064" and lots of from others forum and DP forum.

You can take a look your backlinks in Yahoo

 

google does not show all of your backlinks and google is also ignoring some backlinks with some reasons like nofollow

 

not entirely true......nofollow links sometimes show via the link command and they also show in the webmaster tools link panel

 

I wish the MSN link operator would be available again. It was very reliable.

 

Put a space between the colon and the "m"
ie ----> link: movies.2donext.com

 

I noticed that for one of my domains google shows 31 links in, but yahoo shows hundreds of links in. I can only surmise that google too knows of all the links that Yahoo knows of, but Google doesn't display all the links for some reason.

 

I've noticed that as well. When I type my site in it only shows 2, but I know there are definitely more than that.
