I havent havent seen anything really about how this works and I was wondering if someone could quickly tell me how. I just wanna know why it takes so long for my websites links to show up in google. My website directory (splur.net) is showing 1800 links from msn, yahoo, and that altavista that have been growing over the past 2 months but they dont wanna show up in google. Are googles links done the same way as Pr??? Like a few times a year... or??? Oh and I know they links are indexed by google as wen I seach http://www.splur.net in google it come up with heaps of results which I have checked have not got 'Nofollow' Cos these links dont show up i cant use them pr predictions tools :O Anywho... hope u can help me Thnx, Sam.
Google always shows just a small subset of backlinks. Why? Only Google knows. They have been doing this for several years. You also have to wait for them to do a major backlink update, which hasn't been done for a while. There is usually a big difference between the data that Google uses internally and the data that they allow users to see. They are probably aware of all of your backlinks.
Hey there, If you are using link:yourSiteURL on google, it only shows a small subset of links if any. However, if you go into the google webmaster tools, and look under the links section, you will see a whole lot more links. However, this is still not a complete list by any means. Its better than the links parameter though Sincerely, Travis Walters
oh lol... I cant believe I didnt look at webmaster tools Yeh it shows me 1200 links (although DP is showing up for about 200-300 of them ) THnx Problem solvered.... So how often do these backlink updates happen anyways??
Hello Killermule, Check in google using site:www.splur.net, it will shows your perfect result for your site..
wtf r u on dude... that shows how many pages r listed in google... that has nothing to do with linking.
Don't use regular Google search to see backlinks to your website. It is totally useless without registering for their webmaster tools.
just as a sidenote, has anyone noticed the number of backlinks reported by yahoo has dropped over the past week?
