ok, so I want to know how many other sites are linking back to my site and I type this in the google search box "link:www.mysite.com". When I did that, I got only one result and that one came from a signature from a previous post in DP. My site has been around for a year, has around 1200 pages indexed and I am completely sure that there is a whole lot more than just 1 link linking back to me. Talking about directories, I have my site submitted to around 100 directories. I own a couple of sites. All these sites also link back to "mysite.com", but then they are not shown in the result. All these sites are also indexed by google. So how do I go about finding about the real number of sites linking back to me.
Google purposely doesn't reveal full backlink info. Use Yahoo Site Explorer to check for backlink info: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/
thanks let me try the yahoo site explorer. "You guys better make sure those "hiding backlinks" are indexed or not." - I have the site linked in other couple of sites I own, and I am sure all of the pages are indexed.
