google link on your index page?

This a strange thing that i've noticed a few day ago.
I saw that some webmasters put a google link on their pages and I'm wondering why do they do that.

Could someone explain this to me?

 

its because they love google search engine. :d

theres a myth that when you link to google, they will rank you better on search engines, but that is just a myth.

 

I guess it should be checked by those people from MythBusters.

 

People have been doing this for a long time. They think it helps Pr. I have seen some sites with 10 search engines listed on bottom of page.

 

I guess sites like google don't need links from us, the webmasters, right?

 

That would not make sense if that worked.

It's a waste of space and outbound traffic if you ask me.

 

If this google link thing would have been true, imagine each and every webmaster would have implemented it on it's website, right?

 

Since I have Google Search on my site, there's automatically a link to them.
