Google KW Tool

I've always wondered about this...maybe someone can help me out.

Whenever I use the Google KW tool - you see two columns: Local Search Volum and Global Search Volume. If I type in "Ornaments" to get an idea of other keywords to use - what should I consider a high search number? If it says 300,000 globally - is that considered high? I'm just trying to figure out what number is considered high or low search count.

Ornaments only come out for 135K Globally and 22.2KLocal. Always make sure to use exact match not broad.

No number is high or low it depends on competitive websites for that keyword

It is relative to what you have the resources to compete for and how much money you can make per visitor. With some niches you don't need much traffic to make a lot of money. If you are really unsure start off by targeting low volume keywords and work up to more competitive keywords as your link profile & PR grows.

These two option shows two different statistics:

Local Search Volume: This shows the volume of search for the last available month.

Global Search Volume: This shows the average of search volume for last 12 months.

So you can choose accordingly according to these results.

You should use the global search. And get the keyword competition and compute for the KEI of the keywords.
