I'm wondering if anyone here has used Google Knols yet, and if so if they have seen an increase in traffic from their knols. And also if Google could have possibly have come up with a goofier name than Knols. Then again, they're called "Google" and they seem to be doing reasonably well for themselves.
I guess that would depend if Google let's you insert "DoFollow" links to your site or not Here is what Google's content Policy says: "There are some commercial uses we don’t allow. We don’t allow pages that have the primary purpose of redirecting visitors, acting as a bridge page, or driving traffic to another website. We also don’t allow Knol pages that have the primary purpose of profiting from displaying ads from any publisher network, such as pages created with little or no unique content that exist only to display ads." Here is the complete policy: http://knol.google.com/k/knol-help/content-policy/si57lahl1w25/13#
Im guessing yes, but im not 100% sure. I made a lot of knols and put my URL's on them early, Im hoping that they will gain SEO quick, and if my knols are ever on the front page, even one of them, then I will get a lot of traffic (atleast I hope so). Otherwise, its still good.
Knol is a joke so far and will remain a joke as long as google rank their 2 days old knols higher than wikipedia pages and ranks duplicate, copyrighted content higher than the original sources.
loredan, if they are doing that than sure, it's not fair - but is internet marketing about being fair? I'm fine with having an unfair advantage.
