Google Knol:Do You Get a Good Backlink?

Is Google Knol a good idea to create backlinks? I have never tried this but SEO experts at DP could help out please.

 

I tried Google Knol awhile ago, and the traffic was insignificant, however just the other day I saw results from Knol showing up in search results, so perhaps the relevance is changing.

 

Publishing an article at Google Knol, from my experience, isn't going to get you traffic to wherever you're linking.

You'll need to promote the Knol page to get traffic THERE before you'll get click thru traffic via your link.

If you're about publishing content, that's not a problem. But if you're just after the traffic, it's not going to work for you. That and the fact that Google has nofollow on their Knol links.

Knol is more or less useless from my experience, I tried it once or twice on topics I had success using Squidoo for.. no traffic and no link power. I would wait until Google does something useful with it.

 

as stated above, its NO FOLLOW and that makes it virtually useless as a backlink source.

Hopefully, Google will change this policy because that is what's making Knol a stagnant site!

 

G-knol use nofollow link, so its not effect to our site rank.

Good I came across this thread. Some bloke was telling me to start a Knol because it comes up really good in search engines. I won waste time now

My article is indeed "do follow".
It got a PR 2 without any further backlinks from ym side.

It received around 1.500 pageviews in less than a year.
Value for SERPs seems anyhow limited to me, didn´t see any move in the time I added the article.
