Based on my incoming search engine hits, google simply murders yahoo/bing. I'm ranked 1st page, first result, for every single one of my niche keywords on google, bing, and yahoo and my google hits kills yahoo/bing by a 17-1 margin. I get more hits on google images than on bing. Other people getting the same results?
Yeah, I just thought with the hype that bing received, and the commercials I see for it, it would be bigger than it is. I've saturated the Search Engine market for my website so I'm not worried about not getting hits from bing because then they just come from google, and vice versa. Even if someone switches to bing from google I would still be first result.
What is the bounce rate of that google traffic, as compared to bing and yahoo traffic? On just about all of my sites, google traffic has twice the bounce rate of bing and yahoo traffic. If a site sends you a lot of traffic, with a high bounce rate, that traffic is useless.
Bing is higher and yahoo is less by 5-10% I generally have a higher bounce rate because my website has "themes" for blackberry phones and it's categorized. People are visiting from their phones and generally just come for the OTA downloads that are being linked in from other sites and leave. Plus, with the categories, when a user searches for free themes they get directed to that category for example an all the content is there. It's an over 50% bounce rate but at the same time there is a 2:30+ minute avg time on site.
bing just show off on its first release then gone.. and yahoo still struggling with its updates.. so google still dominating the net..
Thatz really interesting as I get more traffic from google search engines than any other search engines.
This is a common. I have 3 websites ranked in the first page in Google / Yahoo / Bing for certain keywords. I have found 85% of traffics come from Google, 10% from Bing and 5% from Yahoo. It is not a surprise if we have look back how those 3 originated from the beginning. Yahoo had a best chance to become a number one in search engine market while Google was still a baby green horn. However, Yahoo did look down on search engine market and treat at them like a hobby. Yahoo chose to squeeze maximum money from both advertising in Yahoo homepage and Yahoo Directory Listing and ignore complaints from peoples. They are too greedy and limited on every free services they are offering. That's why Google could come over. Google did not treat search engine market like a hobby but much more seriously compared to Yahoo. They see the big opportunities while Yahoo was blinded. Google also came with a breakthrough in many things such as Gmail offered 1 GB disk storage from the start while Yahoo offered only 5 MB for disk storage. That was a buzz spreaded from people to peoples if you could remember. Gmail account has even being listed for auction on eBay! Since Yahoo mindset was wrong from the beginning then they have to follow Google in each and every steps. Google Adsense has been launched before Yahoo Publisher Networks quite a long time ago. Yahoo almost never had a chance to in front of Google in almost every aspect UNTIL NOW. Yahoo is a big company with many genius working there but why is this happens? A bit surprise. Needless to say about MSN / Bing from Microsoft. They was launched just because Bill Gates woke up from a dream and comes to reality in power of the internet. I would say Bing is a much improvement compared to MSN but still need a lot of room. Even Microsoft and Yahoo already joined together but Bing does deliver a better results compared to Yahoo. What does this mean? In my opinion, Bing has a good chance to come over Yahoo but not with Google for now. What would happen if Yahoo being down to #3 in search engine market and Bing is up t o #2 instead? Just a question.
Are you listed in the Yahoo directory or local search? I have noticed that those kind of websites pick up Yahoo traffic. But otherwise, I get most traffic from Google. Do you have an explanation for why you get more traffic from Yahoo? Just curious.
Why bother pointing out the obvious? Google has always killed MSN and Yahoo. Now I'd like to add "the sky is blue".
I was just looking at my stats. And the numbers in the graph were: MSN / Bing 20,000 Yahoo 50,000 Google 194,000 Google has the most. But its worth noting that Google does not have it all. And that remnant is still valuable.
I agree, for many keywords Google simply outclasses Bing and Yahoo. However, it may not be as lopsided as the numbers indicate. You also have to track conversion rates from the clicks that you get, and from testing that I've done it appears that there are more people (especially on Yahoo) that are actually looking to buy something when they do a search there, as opposed to doing "window shopping" and comparisons on Google.
Why be a negative Nancy? The last time I posted here was about a year ago and people were all over Bing/Yahoo so I was wondering, on my first day back here, what had happened.
Traffic coming from yahoo and bing !!! How can you figure out exactly which traffic comes from yahoo or bing ? Google I know because in my stat the google keyword search link shows but how will you check for yahoo ?
