http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&ie=UTF-8&q=netbooster.com&btnG=Suche&meta= Google has banned netbooster, a major european seo company, purportedly for seo spam. The ban appears to be mainly focused on France, and affects other french SEO companies, as well as a nonprofit SEO professional association, which claims it did no SEO on its site (I believe them). The main article, zdnet, is in french http://www.zdnet.fr/actualites/internet/0,39020774,39172130,00.htm but there is enough discussed in english to get the general picture of what is going on. http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&ie=UTF-8&q=netbooster+banned&btnG=Suche&meta= German SEO operators wonder, are they next? http://www.abakus-internet-marketing.de/foren/viewtopic/t-7807.html Okay, who IS next? Is google going to crack down on the US? Textlinkbrokers? Or programs like IBrian's britecorp ibln? (Search this forum for britecorp for details.) According to the article and discussion the ban affected both netbooster and its clients, but I am skeptical. Banning one domain is easy, but can google really reverse engineer the netbooster spam network and knock out all its clients, particularly if they are careful about using different class Cs and all that jazz? My tentative conclusions are a) google is, as usual, trying to sow fear among seo spammers / cloakers / doorway pagers. maybe because scaring the community by making an example out of one is cheaper than building an algorithm to really make a clean sweep. b) The ban may not have truly affected the clients sites, as the article claims. (No banned clients were named.) In which case the SEOs will carry on business as usual, though with higher blood pressure. c) This is a manual ban; an algorithm fix is probably not on the way. My belief is that this problem is too complex for google to solve). But then again... I could be wrong. Builders of ibln and other black hat operators need to take note of this and figure out what is going on. Be interested to hear from people who have looked at netbooster seo techniques and drawn any conclusions. Sayonara... thomas.
I thinking making an example out of people is usually good recource in this situation the seo is work is so filled with desperate marketers who will write an article about anything, and put a spin on it to suit themselves fear is wonderful selling point for seo services "YOU WILL GET BANNED LIKE <insert someone>" so don't try to do it yourself , you must hire someone a couple high profile people get their sites screwed by buying pr links, the info spreads like wildfire
That's what an SEO company told me nearly 3 years ago - I then find out that this SEO company there service entailed of designing backdoor pages, and spammy link pages. Funny that the SEO company is no longer a company and I'm still here. How can fear be good for SEO companies? Surely, if its a SEO company that's getting banned, then it'll affect the industry as more webmasters will do it alone and learn themselves.
