I'd really appreciate some feedback on what's happened to my site over the past couple months.

    www.sakworldpaintball.com

    Background
    • All supplemental
    • PR 5 to O
    • Rankings are still ok for key terms
    • Just added a bunch of new content since it was nonexistent or duplicate.
    • It's a yahoo store and it's slow as shit...

Why all of a sudden did I get bitch slapped?

There could be many reasons friend, how long has the site been up? If not that long, your ranking will drop but eventually it will come back up and bigger in most cases. You could have done something the Serps didn't like so they banned you (I doubt it though!)

As to your store being slow, I offer ecommerce store development services cheap! And hosting, let me know if I can help you out their!

I appreciate you trying to be helpful. I'm aware that it could be several things that's why I posted relevant background information relating to each of the obvious reasons for a bitch slap.

    Anyone else have some insight?

    Zack (I'm assuming),

What do you mean by "bitch slap"? Is it just your google referring traffic has decreased?

If you recently started building links with directories or link exchanges, that will raise a yellow flag by google and put you in a "sandbox" sort of stage, giving your crap for any kind of google result. If you read more about the sandbox in the forums, you'll be able to see other people having your problem. With your site, however, you probably won't get that negative of results because of your site's age and authority - which is why you're still getting decent results.

This stage could last 1 month to ~6 months.

I actually owned and ran pbvids.com and advertised for you. I also emailed you about other advertising opportunities (that you turned down :)).

My suggestion and advice to you is to start an affiliate program for a few months. In those few months, slowly build links to your website.

Also, if I were you, based upon my experience in the paintball/web community, cut out the banner advertising. While it has some use (branding), it gives you no weight to the search engines. Google is bigger than PbNation and PbVids... keep that in mind.

Probably you were ranking before due to a hole in the Google algorithm. Now they improved it and you are losing out.

Just because you ranked well before doesn't mean you will continue to rank in the future.

Site doesn't look to be in the SI ; http://www.google.com/search?q=site...ndow=1&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2005-21,GGLG:en&filter=0

    I see a PR4 ???

I would imagine KeyTerms would be; 'SAK World Paintball' 'Painball guns for sale' 'Online Paintball Store' 'Discount Painball Guns'
At least those stand out in the link profile

The dupes could cause some grief - give it time to sort out

    Yahoo Stores SUCK

ALSO; When did you redirect '/coolsites.html' ??? You have a 302 redirect and it should be a 301. What was there? Nasty outbounds and recip links? That could also have had an effect

Connection to your website is normal. The reason maybe that when your website speed is slow, google will report 404 no found and remove some of your pages from their index.

Keep working and wait, post back the result then.

Thanks for the input. The site was out of supplemental this weekend and then monday it's back in. Probably just a datacenter discrepancy..

    Some more puzzling facts:

5 links in google using the new webmaster tool link finder - all of them only 3 weeks old
    73,000 links in yahoo
70,000 of the yahoo links are from one site where my banner ads are - pbvids.com (yahoo is counting the banner ad link 70k)
