Google keywords tool - does # of single word searched include searched in the phrase?

    Hi,
when the google keyword tool shows how many times an single keyword was searched per month, does it show how many times it was searched as a single keyword, or does it add the cases when it was searched as a part of a key phrase?

For example, when it shows how many times the word "English" was searched, does it show when it was searched "English" (single word) or does it include all the cases in the phrases, like "learning English" "English movies" "English people" etc etc.

If it is the latter (count the numbers of times searched in the phrases as well), is there any way you can see how many times it was searched only as a single word ("English", in this example).

    Thanks!

i think if you choose the "exact", then the result are just "as a single word"

It will do both. It will give you the exact phrase and in addition it will give you relevant phrases as well.
