Hey all, when doing keywords research, I always thought there is no one on the earth query exactly same keywords as others, i.e. when 100 ppl query keywords containing "free dog", they may input "how to get dog images for free", "free dog food", "free the dog, stop eat them", and thus in Google's keywords tool the "free dog" will show 100 search volume, and an idiot will setup a site around "how to get a free dog", then get nothing. And therefore, my question would be, how do you target a proper keyword which neither has multi-means nor too vague too general. Below is a live case, please tell me your choice, and why Keywords related to term(s) entered - sorted by relevance --------------------------------------------------------- hair school 1 - 3 $2.72 74,000 beauty school 1 - 3 $3.40 201,000 cosmetology school 1 - 3 $3.44 90,500 hair styling school 1 - 3 $3.11 720 hair stylist school 1 - 3 $4.47 720 hair salon school 1 - 3 $2.58 880 hair beauty school 1 - 3 $3.09 2,400 hair design school 1 - 3 $2.24 18,100 aveda hair school 1 - 3 $3.77 880 hair dressing school 1 - 3 $2.02 390 school for hair 1 - 3 $2.34 6,600 hair cutting school 1 - 3 $4.25 590 beauty school grants 1 - 3 $2.92 720 dudley's beauty school 1 - 3 $1.87 320 cost of beauty school 1 - 3 $3.31 210 beauty school dallas 1 - 3 $1.94 590 hair school dallas 1 - 3 $3.20 320 empire beauty school pittsburgh 1 - 3 $9.23 140 martins school of hair design 1 - 3 $0.05 58 beauty school com 1 - 3 $4.61 880 beauty school la 1 - 3 $3.09 1,000 online beauty school 1 - 3 $4.19 590 hair school utah 1 - 3 $2.21 260 beauty school cost 1 - 3 $3.33 590 the hair design school 1 - 3 $2.68 1,600 school of hair design 1 - 3 $1.78 14,800 jean madeline beauty school 1 - 3 $9.52 73 hair design school louisville 1 - 3 $2.21 590 concorde school of hair design 1 - 3 $3.00 210 school of beauty 1 - 3 $2.41 27,100 central beauty school 1 - 3 $2.35 320 hair school nyc 1 - 3 $7.36 210 la james beauty school 1 - 3 $2.05 170 beauty school san antonio 1 - 3 $3.79 480 virginia school of hair design 1 - 3 $2.57 320 blaine hair school 1 - 3 $2.15 720 dudley beauty school 1 - 3 $2.07 590 ogle hair school 1 - 3 $1.05 3,600 paul mitchell beauty school 1 - 3 $2.61 2,900 vogue school of beauty 1 - 3 $0.05 110 artistic beauty school 1 - 3 $5.43 590 aveda school of cosmetology 1 - 3 $2.40 140 aveda cosmetology school 1 - 3 $2.68 720 empire beauty school 1 - 3 $8.00 18,100 capri beauty school 1 - 3 $2.92 720 gene juarez beauty school 1 - 3 $4.02 390 libs beauty school 1 - 3 $5.03 590 dudleys beauty school 1 - 3 $1.26 91 pierre's school of beauty 1 - 3 $2.42 46 scot lewis beauty school 1 - 3 $1.89 140 ogle cosmetology school 1 - 3 $0.93 170 dudley cosmetology school 1 - 3 $1.68 260 capri cosmetology school 1 - 3 $4.05 140 empire beauty school atlanta 1 - 3 $4.85 110 cosmetology beauty school 1 - 3 $3.93 880 empire beauty school pa 1 - 3 $14.11 880 grabber school of hair design 1 - 3 $1.72 480 beauty school scholarships 1 - 3 $2.31 320 paris beauty school 1 - 3 $2.55 390
Two idential keywords can generate totally different page results. This is because the keywords have been queried too many times that have their own 'entity' in the index. For example, one would think that searching for speedy cars and speed cars would bring up similar pages on Google. Well it doesn't because there are sites that have been optimized for one or the other and there are searches who use one or the other term.
..each keyword has value..the higher value is the best keyword. Try click on column then order by higher volume.Choose this option to get better keywords.
I like to target a group of related terms. You don't have to just target one phrase for your homepage. For example you could easily optimize for both hair stylist school and hair styling school. I don't think the Google keyword tool groups together phrases that contain a keyword. I believe it only shows exact matches. The numbers are a little weird though as they are somehow rounded off. The search volume seems like an approximation.
vansterdam, Google tool's broad match will count in not only other phrase containing that phrase but also synonym of that phrase, thank u anyway
