Google Keywords Tool - Best Numbers For A Keyword?

    I was wondering what you guys think is a decent number to compete with when you try searching for a good keyword phrase via Google keyword tool.

    I generally pick the keywords which gets about 30k-50k monthly searches both global and US market.

    What about you guys?

    It all depends on your competition. There are times where it doesn't make sense to go after the top keywords.

    I prefer using semrush - it gives more exact results.

    I go down as low as 1,000 monthlu searches if I'm covering a topic exhaustively.
