google keyword tool

    hi

    just wanted to know about some stats regarding the google keyword tool the keyword i chose was getting searched around 80.000 times a month according to googles keyword tool i currently come top for this keyword what i would like to know is what are the stats how many page impressions should i be getting i mean whats the average

    if there anyone out there that could give me a idea id be greatful

    Google has many different sites like: google.com, google.co.uk etc

    Your site may have been ranked high in one or few of them. So you can expect to see less traffic coming to your site, from this KW search, than what this tool shows.

    It it is exact and your site is on top 1, you will get around 80%, top 2 will get 90%, top 3 60%, top 4 40%... I am talking about Google.com...

    Please answer this question first - Which type of matching did you use when query keywords data? (Broad / Exact / Phrase)

    If those numbers come from Broad matching then it would not be that much like 80,000 really. I would recommend you read this for clarity - What are keyword matching options? - Google Adwords Help

    Regarding to 80,000 numbers and the estimate impressions you would get.

    If your site ranked #1 You would get 85 - 90% Approx.

    If your site ranked #2 You would get 85 - 90% Approx.

    If your site ranked #3 You would get 70 - 90% Approx.

    If your site ranked #4 You would get 60 - 80% Approx.

    If your site ranked #5 You would get 40 - 65% Approx.

    Lower than #5 = Upto 50% Approx.

    People don't realized the imortance of search matches.. You should always use "exact" when trying to pick a keyword for better result..

    Google traffic comes from different countries and your position keep moving up and down on different country google search engine . So don't try to compare your stats according to keyword tool exactly .

    my search was done using exact and for the uk and was around 80.000 local search but i have since aquired another keyword tool micro niche finder and have searched the same using exact and i am getting local seach of 8000 and my current page impressions match more with the 8000 cos i get around 90 to 150 page impressions a day
