Good blogpost. Conclusion: We should keep in mind that the Googtle Traffic Estimator is primarily for PPC campaigns with Google Network included. The number that Google shows for traffic are Google search + Google Network (a website with adsense).

 

so what percentage of that would be accurate? 50% or 5% or 80%?

 

No one keyword tool should be used in isolation in my opinion, however the Google Adwords tool is the most accurate and is what most people should use!!

 

Umm Houston, we have a problem:

One of my client sites was optimized for keyword #### and google tool shows a 10-20 searches/day. But right now, only from Google SERP's he is getting 100-200 unique visits/day.

So...

 

he is probably getting keyword #### along with a bunch of random longtails.

oh well, it is the best, so im just going with it

I don't accept this.I am getting good traffic from my few sites.(SEO done using adwords tool).
There keyword findings are correct I think.

 

Perhaps the person using the tool is useless.

 

Like with all keyword tools, you can't rely on them completely, but saying its a useless tool, well, is useless. The best keyword tool though is of course server data.

 

Google Keyword tool provides good keyword list and better result.

 

It provides a good rule of thumb. Used with others, it can be effective.

 

I would for sure trust Google more than some of the other kewyord tools. I used Wordtracker (free version) and it show incorrect data for a few sites that I built. I achieved #1 in serps for that keyword and no traffic. When I inputted that keyword in google tool it showed a accurate result saying that the search was only 3-5 a day instead of 75/day that Wordtracker showed.

 

I don't find any problem with rankings and visits from Google keyword selector.
I am using it, since inventory went down,
and i am feeling happy with it. no matter what people says to promote their blogs.

 

I also Trust Google Keyword Tool. In My Point of view Google Keyword tool is best for me. I think Google keyword Tool is better accurate than the other tool

 

So we should start relying more google keyword tool than SEOkeyword or discovery tool

 

I always use free version of wordtracker and it seem pretty accurate so far.
