It will eventually increase the competition between webmasters. now we can expect some quality sites.
google must implement that policy to keep the program alligned with adwords as adwords advertisers are the ones who pay us at the end. there is a requirement for adwords advertisers to maintain atleast .5% CTR or their keyword will be disabled. i guess they are "bringing balance to the FORCE" i think the revision was made on yesterday's update when everyone was forced to accept the new TOS upon login.
You're wrong. You started a thread about something that has been in place for years. Here's a post from 2005 that talks about it. Google hasn't made any changes to their policy and there is nothing to worry about. http://labnol.blogspot.com/2005/07/google-adsense-sports-new-look.html
It's been there a while and I've never had to accept any new TOS recently. Btw I wouldn't have to anyway as I'm pretty sure when you signed the original TOS the terms said they could change at any moment.
Keep your eye on http://www.jensense.com/ Jen always does a timely, comprehensive analysis of these changes. She will evaluate this new TOC as soon as she sees them, as she mentions on her webpage. Probably later today. She always does an excellent job, saving us all hours of reading and speculation.
Well they´re screwing the smaller (or) medium sites.. anyone has an idea of how much is the minimum values?
This has actually been there for some time, and if they do enforce it I would have to guess that their definition of "sufficient" is much lower than most of you suspect. I know people who have taken 6 months or more to get their first check. I took a long time myself when starting out. I think Google understands this, and they just want to be able to eliminate an account from their database if it hasn't been active for a couple years.
hmm.. My views are different... if google allows small sites which have less than 100 page hits a day it will just increase in "server load" 2k hits everymonth from a small site... there must be millions.. u can calculate how slow would the server get if small sites kept on coming up..! good Step By Google !
You know what ? I sincerely think you are right ! I have been online for many years (webmastering) but was afraid to use Adsense because of all the "banned" stories i was hearing. Now i finally tried it FOR REAL as i have an old account with a couple of clicks here and there but didn't push it because of what i just said. It is starting to pick up (sinc i decided to work on it) AND I REALLLLLLLLLY want to do it the right way ! I would be so disapointed/frustrated to wind up in the "no good" batch. OMG !!!! I would like Google to tell me first before shutting me down. Like: Yeah we know you are ok and doing things that will benefit both of us but we got something that's bugging us ! You know what i mean ? Not to give a chance to crooks but reliable people ! So that their business grows and ours. Hell my kid is fighting for cancer, i'M DOING ALL I CAN. All i can !!!!!! I didn't not read the new terms right away. I clicked on "remind me later" Of course i will read them, LIKE TOMORROW FOR SURE but geeeeeeeeeeeee there is only 24 hours in day folks, only 24 hours ! I sound depressed huh ? It's one of those days.........
...i hope so....maybe there's some (many) isolated cases? anyway i'm not that pessimist after reading this topic....life must goes on,there's only one Google in the world....but there's also many ways to earn online.. have our own backup plans! lol
You should be fine... i generate 5k+ per day and i get 2/3 clicks per day which equals to 0.06 to 0.20 cents a day some days nothing. But if your making 2-3 dollars a day then your doing quite good. I dont think they will strike you off. Otherwise how would google expect to make money? What about new starters? Obviously new starters will start small and then gradually make it onto the big scene. I think they will take off people who make under 500/1k impressions per day. If you want impressions people my advice is to host forums!
With this forum, there is no excuse for any of you Google AdSense publishers not to be making traffic/impression quota.
Good answer. From Google's point of view, there are too many nickel-and-dime Adsense sites, sites that will never generate more than a couple of dollars a month in revenue. Why should they continue to spend the overhead of supporting those sites? Google didn't create Adsense as a means of supporting poor webmasters.
