i had another idea you could use.......... two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions... TIP: put 'em in a sesame seed bun i reckon it will catch on !! Josh u r 1 in a million
It's definetly a rip off. In my opinion changing layout does not make any difference, because the main rip is the idea.
No. Josh, the problem is that you've copied a concept here. It doesn't matter if you change the wording slightly (and it really is only slightly) or even the image slightly -- it's still an obvious copyright infringement. It's like taking a book chapter or article, changing a few words around, and submitting it as your own essay in school -- it's plagiarism nonetheless. You are going to need an entirely new concept or you should just remove the page. A hard lesson maybe but one that people a lot older than you still haven't yet learned -- better to learn it early and move on to bigger and better things.
Oh Good we all agree on this point...no need for arguing here Jush ..I visted your 'new' version and all you did was remove the bart. Its still a ripoff. I owuld simply come up wioth an entirely new idea. Find another catch phrase or something and build a webpage around it whihc hasn't been done already.
Oops.. only uploaded the image, I forgot to upload the content/PHP file. Check it now, I completely re-wrote everything from scratch forgetting anything about just[effing]inggoogleit.com... Working on a better image too, this one is kinda ugly Josh
No. It's not any better. It's really no different than version 1.0. Josh, this is still theft of concept, i.e., plagiarism. No matter how much you change the wording or upload new images, the concept is stolen. It's not gonna work. You need to drop this and come up with a novel, unique, ORIGINAL concept or it's still copyright infringement, theft of concept, plagiarism, etc., etc.
I don't see where the violations are Minstrel, is using the name Google a copyright violation? We use it here everyday and they don't sue us
No, Anthony. It's not infringing on a Google copyright. It's infringing on/theft of concept from the original justfuckinggoogleit.com page or whatever the URL is...
Yeah,I am not 100% sure I understand the theft of copyright idea, correct me if I am wrong, but under that same logic, couldn't www.totalscripts.com be infringing upon a concept (directory listing for scripts) that www.hotscripts.com started? I guess the best thing for me to do is email the guy and ask for his permission to start a like site, but I honestly don't get the whole thing. Seems kinda monopolistic to me. Josh
I don't think it's the use of the word google.. I agree with payment approval. I think the idea was ripped off... although... I don't know how far anyone could take it legally... Does anyone know of any cases where someone was sued for something similar to this??
Unless his text and graphics is very close or a copy of the other site there is no copyright violation. If I copy Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven and sell it on the street that is a copyright violation, but if I write a song that sounds like it a bit that is not unless I stole the music and a judge rules against me. Josh do you have text that is word for word from any other site or is your text original? Do you have graphics cut and pasted from anyone's site on your pages?
Josh, trust me -- it's theft of concept. And Joshril, no one would actually have to sue Josh -- all one would need to do is point out the infringement to his host and issue a "cease and desist" order and the host would certainly close him down.
Text is all original, graphics are all original. minstrel, I run the host its hosted on.. so of course I'd be able to shut myself down Josh
Minstrel this is cut and dry, he either has violated a copyright or he did not. Concepts and so called theft of them mean nothing, McDonald's could say Wendy's stole their concept if that were the case.
