hi, We all know that google is the first search engine in the world and at least 70% of the internet users use it. But, are they really using the Whole of it. No, I don't think so , they only use the first search result page , and specifically the first 3-5 results. It's trues that google indexes over 1 trillion pages but that doesn't matter because no one cares about them or even try to look at search results other then those in the first page. So google is all about the first 3-5 results , everything else is rubbish. Is that fair ? Is it fair for the millions of people , to keep seeing the same staff over and over again Is it fair for internet marketers ? to only have 5/1.000.000.000.000 chances to succeed. Some sites rank high in google and they don't really deserve it. Google Love .com domains. It's so miserbale , It don't give a chance for any other domain. For example : creditcards.net was sold for $118,500 ( 4 years ago ). So, do you see it anywhere when you search for : [ credit cards ] Or even [ " credit cards " ] , ( It's not about the content , google only Love .com ). That was just a little example , One of a million examples out there. So If you think of it , you don't always have that 5/1.000.000.000.000 chances to succeed. You only have that chance when your domain name is .com . I personnally got bored of google search results, they are always the same. Google, It's true that you are the first. But many of us are not satisfied.
This post proves one thing - you know very little about how Google ranks websites. A lot of people 'fail' at internet because it's their own fault - not because of google. If you're not succeeding - you have no one to blame but yourself.
Also Google does not necessarily love .com. Its just that they are more popular causing most sites top ranked are .coms. Also Google is not the only way to gain traffic.
I am talking in general. And not only as an internet marketer but also as a user. We all know that the way google ranks websites is complicated and No one really know exactly how their algorithm works. So, sometimes it doesn't matter how much you know about SEO. Anyway, It's always the same staff in all the SEO E-books and Videos and blogs ... I gave you an example about the .net and .com and how much it's worth and there thousands of other examples. I know that google isn't the only way to gain traffic , there are social bookmarking , back links , youtube ..... But None of those is called " Organic Traffic ". "Organic Traffic " is what really matters.
Google doesn't prefer .com. .com is just a good extension because it's what people think about when they think about the internet. People remember it more, they link to it, brands build and sites do well so people put 2 and 2 together without thinking about what's really going on. We don't know exactly how the algorithm works, but we have a really, really good idea. Maybe this isn't true as a whole but if you mine your own data and do your own testing you can find out or just read a site like SEOMoz. They've got so much data in Linkscape it's ridiculous. But yeah, nothing you said in your original post is true and life isn't fair. Googles job is to provide a good user experience and that means making it harder to game. And it's only going to get harder unless you've really got some aces up your sleeve at every step of the game.
My Friend, google is like an examination. If a website perform better than so many other websites then google will give them high page rankings. It not depends on fair or not, you have to first think that why google give them such rankings, and work on them to get that rankings for your websites. If one student is getting high marks and ranks in examination, then you can't blame the school staff. Because he is doing and working hard to get that ranks. Thanks.
.com sites tend to do better because, unless they are specifically targeting the tld of a specific country, it's the first choice for any one to register. .net .info etc are only registered because someone has already the .com, so that person alreday has the advantage of being older, and having the idea first. Google exists for searchers not webmasters - it got to be the number one search engine because people found the results more relevant than the other search engines it was competing with. People can look for results on page 5 or 15 if they want, but they don't because they expect a search engine to serve up relevant results in the first page. If they don't get the result they want on that first page , they are more likely to change the search term than look through other pages.
I've seen .blogspot sites get ranked right at the top ahead of .com. Google rewards seniority, not just content.
I think that Google is much better than other search engines because it presents reulst that are often more relevant (although not always.) it is also far better than Yahoo although bing seems to have a good search structure
