    About zero

The government did kind of shut down the ad partnership proposed between Google and Yahoo, but that's the only high profile political intervention in Google's business model

Yes, the advertising partnership would have led to a basic monopoly in the PPC ad field by Google/Yahoo, much like when Staples and OfficeMax attempted to merge.

Absolutely not. Google is certainly not owned by the US government.

Google is Privately owned; and i would be interested to know where such thoughts came from or where you may have seen such information.

If Google was owned by The United States Government or any good Government in that matter then alot more people may be behind bars in jail.

Its not owned by the government, if the government has anything to do with google it would be funding. I would not be surprised to find out that google sells information. Google can track your ever move, any website with adsense leaves cookies, plus they know what everyone is searching. I'm sure the government would love this type of information. No proof or facts to what I said above. Just saying if the government has anything to do google its probably spying on us.
