Google is up and down like a yoyo

    Hey,

I recently noticed that Google is moving a term of mine literally up and down like a yo, my site in particular is constantly on the move. I can't figure it out though. Has anyone else ever experienced this.

I think its quite dangerous as you could easily get inpatient and start changing loads of things on your site, when in reality Google is just deciding where to place you.

Another part of me thought that buying links would have caused this but then again, Google would have only devalued those links???

    "Google dance"?
the positions will be back or nearby again in about 10 days.
i think G is just shffling positions like playing cards in order to readjust the "pack" having included new pages, new sites and newly valued resources.

sure, but it would appear as though mine is the only site being dramatically moved around?

It's more negative than positive for me plus this has been happening for about 1 month now and it is doing my fruitcake in

This is typical Google SERP movement. Don't worry to much about it. Just concentrate on things that will make a difference in your SERP - like quality link building / marketing. The yoyo will eventually settle back to a stable position. If you're making a lot of changes to your site and/or home page, you could actually be causing the yoyo effect. I've seen this happen before. I would make a change and my SERP would go from #5 down to #25, then work it's way back up. It's almost like a SIN wave function is somehow involved.
