I've seen a slight drop in CTR, but an increase in CPM. I believe November 2007 is shaping up to be my BEST AdSense month EVER! Joel
I dont feel any important change in CTR or CPM... (Interesting discussion here...) Google could not be permited to be the only one great player...thats not good to all of us.
The bottom line is the money that adsense pays out to publishers comes from advertisers that need to get value for the money they put in.... empty clicks that don't convert to sales and profits for the advertisers will cause the advertisers to take their money elsewhere. Sites that are optimized to generate accidental clicks or unintentional clicks don't help the cause. The biggest thing we can hope for is that when a user clicks on an ad that they see on one of our sites, that they actually will pull out their credit card and make a purchase. This is not free money that adsense is giving for nothing.... if the advertisers start to disappear due to no value then we are all in trouble. I see so many sites nowadays with ads placed in deceptive areas with the type color and font disguised to look like regular content as much as possible to generate accidental clicks...
