Hi, I was reading an article for the supplimental result. As far as I knw for the supplimental result G uses a diffrent indexing. And Bad pages will be shifted to supplimental index. So now confusion starts : When u search any keyword it shld show result from the main index not from supplimental index as they are the bad pages for google. But you can see the mixed result in search. So wht is the criteria G is mugging behind it..? Anybody can explain me please.. Edit/Delete Message
From what I am seeing Google is replacing so called bad pages with supplimental index although the supplimental pages are dating right back to early 2005. I am still trying to figure out why they classed some pages as bad and are coughing up the supplimental index.
Hi, I knw the reasons why G classed some pages as suppliemental > Duplication > Not able to crawl page > Bad link generation from tht page > A black page with no content > Page tht doesnt link anywhere But the issue is if these things are bad for it thn why G still uses this index to show the result mixed up with regular result..? How we can get out of it.
Hi, Try to use this tools For page similarity check: webconfs.com (Page similarity checker) For your page : htmlphelp.com/tools/valet & also search your site on www.copyscape.com You ll definately find something here. If not then send me the link of your site. May be I can help a bit.
Some of my pages that I created a couple of months ago went straight into the supplemental index. The content was unique and their was no black hat techniques used. The site does have a lot of pages that are in the supplemetal index, so to me it looks like google has placed some sort of penalty on the site. About a year ago I did a mistake of duplicating content on my site. I moved pages from the sub folders to the root location, an attempt to flatten the structure that backfired. The old pages and the current pages now show as supplemental. The cache in the supplemental is going back to July 05. I have changed the content pages entirely, from the titles and descriptions, used sitemaps and still google does not pick this up.
