Google says... Remember, when we determine that clicks are invalid, you aren’t charged for them, and they don’t affect your other campaign statistics. You may include the invalid clicks and invalid click rate columns in yearly, quarterly, monthly, and daily reports. More information about the new reporting can be found ://adwords.blogspot.com/2006/07/estimating-invalid-clicks.html
Sounds like a great idea -- I really like it, and I think it would be sort of Peace of Mind for advertisers knowing they can see google watching for invalid clicks, and that they didn't get charged for X amount of clicks.
It's already in your account. Mine get 3% invalid clicks on average. Pretty bad considering the tens of thousands of clicks we get.
Playing devil's advocate here...what is google's incentive to give you the actual # of invalid clicks, rather than a rough estimate to what they think it might be? I think 3% is bunk. I think its 5-10 times that, personally.
I think the whole thing is a pile of worthless crap. It's worthless data. Maybe it will make some people feel good but that's about it.
No, Google caught and flagged 10% of your clicks as invalid. There's a difference. So now that you have that number what can you do with/about it? Nothing. That's what makes it worthless.
