If they've any sense of fairness they'll even the battlefields by making no bonus outside of maybe indexing for any sites hosted on their DNS.
I have a little to say about this lol. This way if google is the domain register, they dont have to send out their spiders to place the new sites in the sandbox..lol so they can save money by doing this. Also on a more serious note if google is registering the domain they will have more access to certain information that they would not have otherwise. Just food for thought.
Dear Customer, Thank you for registering your domain name with Google. Typically it may take up to 48 hours before your site to propogate through all the DNS servers on the internet. But don't worry, since we are Google, we'll be sure we don't see you for 6 months anyway. Thank you, Google See you in 6 months!
we are finally get to see the REAL media. Lies and half-truths. It would be interesting to see more in the media REPORT the news instead of create it with biased viewpoints and crafty editing. The media controls the thoughts of too many who are foolish enough to believe everything --- since they saw it on the news it must be true???
What gets me is when they correct it, it does NOT make headlines and the lie is still on the forefront of ppl's minds. .. .
I could not agree more. It is disturbing that reporters no longer follow up and verify stories, or sources. I mean what would it have took to ask to see a certified copy of the birth certificate? CBS kinda set the gold standard for this kind of reporting though.. I guess it is the norm now.
I think it has been the norm for quite some time, it has just got to the point of boil-over. People are tired of being misquoted, tired of seeing lies, etc... I love the daily news: Bad news today oil prices are rising - the next day it says - bad news today oil prices have dropped! Oil price increase is bad news for the end user. Oil price decrease is bad news for the investors. BUT... oil price increase is good news for the investor and oil price decrease is good news for the end user! everyday is bad news in oil depending how you look at it.
back to the topic - I just realized that Google being a domain registrar may give me an advanced search tool I've always wanted: a whois:domain feature. (I've mentioned wanting this feature in the forums before, and I feel compelled to say "I know there are whois lookups all over the net, so I don't need to know where any are. It would be convenient if google offered one from their search box, that's all.") Seriously, would it be that hard to implement?
Wait no longer.. Try this: http://home.mia.net/requests/checksite.php Get whois for the domain, the ip space/range, the os, server type, etc.. Enjoy!
Thanks Mia - I already utilize http://dnsstuff.com for my needs. Every piece of information I could need, including tracerts and netgeo, etc. But I appreciate the gesture. Just want whois in the google search for convenience sake.
clasione, where you been? We're missing you in these parts of the woods. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=8853 We've been discussing it, but it fell a little off track. I don't see the hurt in starting a new thread.
