Google cache function is still works. However, you have to type the domain name in Google search then clicked on "cached" to see the cached page instead. It seems Google has changed the way of seeing cached page and prevent direct type anyway. You cannot type cache:domain.com for now and I hope someone could show the solution in a soon.

    Re-post answer:

It is tough to see the cache when there are so many different datacenters. I think it is unreliable, but because it is supposed to be. Google isn't going to keep a cache of every single page out there. But also, why the heck are people even using this?

From my experience I have seen sites drop from serps after it is not found using the cache: command.

You can still check the google cache using this google ip : http://74.125.113.132
also I have free script you can download here: http://www.askfrank.net/seo-tools/seo-report-script/
It will show you google indexed pages, google cache, google inbound links, yahoo indexed pages, yahoo inbound links, from .edu & .gov

bing indexed pages, bing inbound links,

    ask indexed pages,

    alexa rank, alexa inbound links,

    dmoz listing & siteadvisor rating.

Is this true for everyone that google is not showing results when you type cache:domain.com

I was wondering if it was a penalty on my ip or something, but sounds like it's the new "normal"

To see if Google has indexed the page, and what Google's cached version looks like

add you site to google analytic and put that code on your site, after verification you can see the chached in the analytics where the trafic from search engine is shown or use seoquake tool
