In my experience i have found that linking to a PR2+ site gets your page/site indexed very fast.

You must also take into consideration that if the domain name is new you might be dropped into the dreaded Google Sandbox

Also keep in mind that submitting a sitemap does not guarantee you will ever be indexed. I never submit a sitemap until after I'm indexed and I NEVER submit my site to google. Articles, social bookmarking and advertising blogs is all I have ever used and it has never taken me any longer than 2 weeks. Most of the time it is in a week or less.

Your hosting can play a roll in you getting indexed as well if you are using shared hosting. If you are sharing from an IP of a site that has been removed from googles index you could be waiting a long time. If you are no already, use a host that has dedicated IPs for each domain. This could save you a lot of frustration.

Submit to as many bookmarking sites as you can my friend. Even the plugg sites, but mainly the mainstream ones.

I sometimes go for small niches...it indexes my pages in less than a week - sometimes in a day or two. When you are in a competitive niche though - the bots are going to take longer.

It takes time when you site built and submitted. You can submit article to social media sites like Digg and reddit. Get enough backlinks from quality sites. if you will do this much then your site wil be indexed. Still wait for sometime and see
