Google is not caching my home page

Discussion in 'Google Sitemaps' started by jayantamukherjee, Mar 25, 2011.

    Google is not caching my home page, but the other pages have been crawled and indexed only except the home page.

    I have followed all the instruction from google webmaster tools accordingly I have submitted a XML sitemap, I have uploaded a robots.txt file on my server, I have use the following meta tag <meta name="robots" content="index/FOLLOW">. Whatever I know I have tried and done but still google is not caching my home page.

    Please kindly advice me what to do I do to get my home page indexed in Google. Looking for your valuable suggestion.

    Send local ping packets, that might help in quick caching. It does take time with Google cache so don't loose hope :)

    Refresh your content at least weekly on your home page, then wait. However it is not a problem is google don't cache your page. I have many sites in top of google for relevant keywords, and Google never cached them.

    A relevant meta description with relevant keywords on your homepage and resubmitting the sitemap may solve your problem

    Use this meta tag in your head
    <meta name="robots" content="index, follow" />
    be sure you are not using "noarchive" in above tag

    Ya, It's important that your home page not contained the noarchieve tag. Also, delete the one link of home page from sitemap as there are 2 home page links.

    If you uploaded robots.txt file then there is no need to add this tag <meta name="robots" content="index/FOLLOW"> just remove this tag and try to submit your site in ping submission sites.

    You are telling that you inner pages has been indexed then how its possible your home page is not indexed. Because home is only the gateway to reach to the inner page....

    Just select the option in Google Webmaster tool fetch as google bot.....
